School Improvement Team

This year's School Improvement Team used information from the NEASC Commendations & Recommendations report, the 16-17 School Improvement Plan, the District Strategic Plan as well as input from our Students Advisory Board to identify areas of focus for this academic year. After a crosswalk of the above, the School Improvement Team prioritized the following 3 areas and developed essential questions to guide this work:

Subcommittees and accompanying actions plans have been established for each of the goal areas above.

We hope you can attend our final meeting on May 31st and help us start planning for next year's School Improvement Plan!

End-of-Year Planning

As we approach the end of the academic year, below are important dates to be aware of in the upcoming weeks.  Click on the links below:

AP Letter to Parents

Dress Code Reminder to Students

This message was shared with students as a reminder about warm weather attire:
Just a friendly reminder, the warm weather is here.   Please be mindful of your school attire. Clothing that exposes the torso, shorts and shirts that fall shorter than finger tip length, muscle shirts, hats, hoods, and sunglasses are examples of violations of the dress code. Inappropriately dressed students will be asked by school personnel to change or cover themselves as necessary.  To avoid being spoken to, make sure to be in compliance prior to entering the building.

Quebec Trip Information

Mrs. Leatham will hold an informational meeting for students about the 2019 Chariho High School trip to Quebec City.  All interested sophomores, juniors and seniors are invited to attend Wednesday, May 16th from 2:20-3:00 in classroom D6 at CHS.

Mrs. Leatham will also hold a second informational meeting for parents and students about the 2019 Chariho High School trip to Québec City. All interested sophomores, juniors and seniors and their parents or guardians are invited to attend in the library media center on Monday, May 21st at 6 p.m.

London Experience

It was my pleasure leading a group of students to England and Scotland. Students explored historic sites and discovered rich diversity and cultural heritage.  Some of the most memorial places were London, the British Museum, Stonehenge, Roman Baths, Warwick Castle, Shakespeare’s birthplace, York, Edinburgh, Edinburgh Castle, and of the course the Scottish Folklore dinner, just to list a few.  It was such a great experience as a teacher to see students actively engaged in learning history and wanting to know more!  In addition, I think this experience gave students a unique opportunity to discover all the advantage traveling abroad can bring. I am considering leading another trip in 2020! I will provide more details as they develop.
