Hallway Traffic Pattern: An Update

As a leadership team, we frequently monitor our COVID safety protocols to ensure they are meeting the needs of our students and staff.  We reached out to the RI Department of Health regarding the need to continue with our one-way traffic flow pattern.  In our talks with RIDOH, they have informed us that the CDC no longer advises to direct the flow of traffic by designating hallways as one way as a mitigation strategy.  We have received confirmation that it is okay for us to lift this restriction, so we will go back to a two-way traffic pattern starting on 11/15.

We will continue to monitor COVID numbers and to work with RIDE and RIDOH in determining where it is best to maintain or reduce COVID safety restrictions.   Our goal is to remain full in-person, as we have been able to do since the start of the schoolyear.   We will continue with our contact tracing protocols and other safety measures that are currently in place.   Although our hallway pattern will now be two-directional, we have decided to continue with the 7-minute transition time in our hallways and we will continue to follow our current block schedule for the time being.  We will revisit at the close of quarter 2.  Please note: the two-way hallway traffic pattern will begin on 11/15, after the close of Quarter 1.

A Message from the Girls Recognized for Leadership Club

GRL is dedicated to the empowerment of young girls. We strive to uphold the 3 C’s of confidence, communication, and collaboration in an effort to teach girls important leadership skills. It is a great way to earn leadership that you will need for NHS or college applications. GRL meets after school every other Thursdays in B9. Please fill out this google form if you are interested.

Morning Drop Off

We would like to give a few reminders about morning drop-off procedures. We ask that families pull their vehicles as far up as possible toward the library along the sidewalk in front of the high school before having students exit. Each wave will have more vehicles off of Switch Road and in the drop-off circle. We hope that this strategy will reduce the overall wait time in the morning.
