Chariho Families,
We are quickly approaching the end of the 1st quarter on Friday, November 12th. Report card grades for the 1st quarter will be available in PowerSchool by Monday, November 22nd. The last day students may turn in missing work to their teachers is Thursday, November 4th. For questions and directions about how to view grades, please visit the Chariho PowerSchool Resources Page for log-in information and the user guide. As a leadership team, we frequently monitor our COVID safety protocols to ensure they are meeting the needs of our students and staff. We reached out to the RI Department of Health regarding the need to continue with our one-way traffic flow pattern. In our talks with RIDOH, they have informed us that the CDC no longer advises to direct the flow of traffic by designating hallways as one way as a mitigation strategy. We have received confirmation that it is okay for us to lift this restriction, so we will go back to a two-way traffic pattern starting on 11/15.
We will continue to monitor COVID numbers and to work with RIDE and RIDOH in determining where it is best to maintain or reduce COVID safety restrictions. Our goal is to remain full in-person, as we have been able to do since the start of the schoolyear. We will continue with our contact tracing protocols and other safety measures that are currently in place. Although our hallway pattern will now be two-directional, we have decided to continue with the 7-minute transition time in our hallways and we will continue to follow our current block schedule for the time being. We will revisit at the close of quarter 2. Please note: the two-way hallway traffic pattern will begin on 11/15, after the close of Quarter 1.
