US NEWS & WORLD REPORT RANKINGS

We would like to share the good news that Chariho High School has been ranked as a top 10 high school in Rhode Island by the US News & World Report.  This is a great honor for our school and a testament to our teachers, students, staff, and community.  More information can be found in the Boston Globe article HERE or at the US News link HERE.   Congratulations to all!


CHS RECOGNIZED FOR AP SUCCESS

CHS is one of 5 schools being honored at the state capitol for our commitment to Advanced Placement (AP).  Our school has been chosen due to our ongoing AP participation and student success.  We are so proud of our students and teachers!

LUNCH INPUT: STUDENT GROUP

We are seeking a student focus group to provide input on school lunches.  This group will meet with Ms. Spas and the Director of Food Services to provide input about lunch options for students.  We are looking for 15 students to participate; 5 students from grades 9, 10, and 11.  Selection is based on first to apply.  We will meet on Monday, May 9th at 2:30 in the CHS Library.  If you are student in grades 9-11 and are interested in participating, please complete this sign-up form HERE.

SENIOR PROM INFORMATION

Starting May 16th through May 20th, Senior Prom tickets will be sold during lunches in the cafeteria. On May 16th and 17th, tickets will only be sold to Seniors.  On May 18th and 19th, ticket sales open up to guests who are Chariho underclassmen and on May 20th, ticket sales will open up to out-of-district guests. Tickets are $75 and are first come, first serve. Checks can be made out to CHS Class of 2022.  In order to purchase your ticket, you need to have your signed prom contract and meet all other requirements.  The contracts will be shared with students in their advisories this week.  The prom contract will also contain information about school attendance expectations for the day of the prom.  Seniors MUST be present for ticket purchases and meet all other requirements such as no missing work and must have presented their graduation portfolio.  Any Senior who presents their portfolio on Wednesday, May 25th will be able to purchase Senior Prom tickets after a completed and passed portfolio presentation as long as all other requirements are met.

STUDENT ADVISORY BOARD POSITIONS

We are seeking our student leadership team for next year's Student Advisory Board.  Our SAB Leadership team meets quarterly with building administrators to discuss ideas for improving our school.  Our SAB team also helps with planning topics for our Full SAB Membership meetings, which are open to the entire student body.  If you are interested in sitting on our SAB Leadership Team, please complete the application HERE.

BUDGET VOTE REMINDER

As a reminder, the vote for the Chariho School Budget is being held on Thursday, May 5th, 2022, from 8:00AM- 8:00PM at the town halls in Charlestown, Hopkinton, and Richmond.

RIDE SURVEY WORKS UPDATE

UPDATES FROM FOOD SERVICES

Please know that once students return to school in September, universal free lunches for students will no longer be in effect.  Food services and administration will be meeting with students to get student input on lunch choices for next year.

2022 FFA PLANT SALE

Please join us for the 2022 Chariho FFA Plant Sale Fundraiser on Saturday, May 7th from 8am-1pm!  The greenhouse at the high school is filled with beautiful annuals, vegetable plants and herbs and our FFA members are looking forward to seeing you.  As always, thank you for the support of the Chariho Agriculture program, especially this year as we hope  to support our students who will be traveling to compete in the 2022 National FFA Convention!   #charihoffaplantsale
