School Improvement Team Update

Our School Improvement Team has met twice this year and we have drafted 3 potential goal areas to focus efforts towards during the 18-19 academic year.  Our tentative goal areas include a focus on improving absenteeism, building an alumni network, and efforts aimed to ensure our incoming 9th graders remain academically on-track.  Research tells us that students who have multiple failures in grade 9 put themselves in jeopardy of becoming off-track to graduate.  We want to focus efforts on keeping students on track during this critical year.

On a related note, our final District Strategic Planning meeting was held on 10/25.  Over the course of three evenings, community members, district and school administrators, teachers, parents and students met to develop our 5-year strategic plan.  This plan will likely be released during the December School Committee meeting.  Our School Improvement Plan will also be guided by the prioritized goals of the District Strategic Plan.

Please consider attending our next School Improvement Team meeting, which will take place on November 29th at 2:30 in the CHS Library.
